Five for Friday

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs for Five for Friday

{1} Environmental Print

After looking at a few examples of environmental print, my kinders discovered that we could read already!  The next day they brought in their own examples and shared (read) them.  SO FUN!

...and then a game!

We played this spin and graph game to continue the fun of reading environmental print. The game is free from the link below:

I did modify a couple of pictures to be ones that were most familiar in our area.   I also discovered that Wikipedia has logos for just about everything that you can easily drag to your desktop.  SUPER FUN!  Thank you Mrs. Lirette!!!

{2} For all of you kindergarten teachers out there who are just starting after Labor Day, I'll be thinking about you:)

{3} Stick Together Like Glue

I really wanted to get a jump on teaching some neatness techniques for gluing.  I found these great songs with cute graphics here for free.

After we sang the songs I posted the pages on the wall near the art and writing center for a reminder to my kinders:). We also did this gluing practice printable which is also part of the printable set. Thank you Mrs. Miner!!!

{4}Back to School Night...

                  was Thursday at my school.

I stole this great idea from:

Thank you Ms. Moran!!!

{5}My commuter
I don't always need all of the baskets, but this was just one of those days.

Have a fabulous weekend!

  1. I LOVE how you used environmental print to show your kids how they can already read! I did a project many moons ago in college related to reading environmental print--so important. Thanks so much for sharing! Just found your blog today and am a new follower...

  2. I found you through the linky. I think it's neat that you ride your bike to school. My husband often suggests I ride a horse to school. (I hope he's kidding! lol). I'm your newest follower. Please check out my blog & see the horses I do not want to ride to school.
